Grief is a profoundly personal experience that can feel overwhelming and isolating, but taking part of a support group can provide comfort and understanding during such a difficult time. Support groups offer a comfortable environment for individuals who have lost a loved one to share their feelings and experiences with others who are going through similar challenges. Griefshare can help alleviate feelings of loneliness by fostering a sense of community and mutual support. Participants often find solace in knowing they are not alone in their grief, and they can learn coping strategies from others who have navigated similar paths. Facilitated by trained peers, these groups encourage open discussions and provide emotional support, helping members gradually work through their grief in a compassionate and supportive setting.

“Going to GriefShare feels like having warm arms wrapped around you when you’re shivering.” GriefShare groups meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move toward rebuilding your life.

The Spring/Summer Session has concluded. New session dates coming soon.

Losing a loved one is one of life’s most difficult journeys, and it can feel heavy and challenging to face it alone. At St. Anastasia, we believe in walking together in faith, friendship, and hope.

Compassionate Friends is a caring support and social group created especially for widows and widowers. Each week, we gather to share stories, listen with compassion, and encourage one another. Beyond support, it’s also a place to build new friendships, enjoy uplifting conversation, and rediscover joy in community.

If you have lost a spouse—whether recently or years ago—you are warmly welcome to come as you are, find strength in fellowship, and know that you are not alone.

Compassionate Friends meets weekly on Wednesdays from 1:30-3:30pm in the San Antonio Room of St. Anastasia.
