The ‘Active Phase’ of the Building Faith campaign has officially started, and this means that all parishioners will soon have the opportunity to make a positive impact on some of the most pressing needs facing our parish. As we begin this phase, let’s take a moment to answer some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about the campaign: How will you ask for gifts? What is the pledge collection period? Every parish family will be invited to make a three-year commitment toward the campaign. These invitations will take place over the next few months through face-to-face visits, direct-mail and in-pew appeals. Pledges enable parishioners to consider meaningful gifts while avoiding the financial difficulty of making a large, one-time gift. How is this capital campaign different from the weekly offertory? Weekly contributions provide for the routine, ongoing needs of our parish such as utilities and maintenance. The capital campaign is an extraordinary effort above and beyond the weekly collection. Your gift to Building Faith is designated towards the Christian Formation Building and should be a sacrifice above your normal offertory giving. I’ve already given to the Building Fund. Will I be asked to support the campaign? We do not want to impose upon those who have gotten us within site of the finish line, but as Catholics we are often called upon to sacrifice and place the needs of others above our own. Good stewardship and a campaign of this magnitude suggest that all parishioners prayerfully consider a sacrificial gift to the campaign, notwithstanding Building Fund contributions. We are so close – but it’s going to take all of us to make this happen! Is my campaign gift tax deductible? Gifts to the campaign are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Donors with specific questions regarding tax deductibility should contact their financial advisor. It seems like this effort has been going on forever – when will construction begin? Construction will begin in 2016. All parishioners will be invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the momentous occasion. On that day Frs. Lindenfelser, Morgan and O’Flynn would like nothing more than for every parishioner to be able to say, ‘I have truly sacrificed to make this day a reality.’ How can I donate and use Faith Direct to make my contribution?
