“Whatever you do for the least of my people, that you do unto me.” Matthew 26:40 Dining with Dignity is a ministry that responds to a repetitive thread throughout the Gospels, a call to serve the hungry and impoverished. Dining with Dignity is a service of Home Again St. Johns, Inc. and provides a hot, balanced and nutritious meal to the homeless and many others in need in our community who are just a step away from falling into homelessness. This meal is served at 6 pm nightly, 365 days a year, in an outdoor parking lot on the corner of Granada & Bridge Streets to 75 – 100 men, women and children. There are over 30 churches, community organizations and civic groups that share in this ministry. St. Anastasia volunteers have been serving on the third Sunday of every month for over 5 years. Some parishioners volunteer on the third Sunday and Wednesday night of the month as well. Wednesday’s, there are medical services are made available by the Wildflower Clinic and clothing is distributed by Shepherd’s Haven. Also on Sundays and Wednesdays at 4:30 pm a meal is served indoors at the Home Again St Johns offices on SR 207. This meal is served to a smaller group of 15 – 30. Showers and laundry facilities are also made available to the homeless. We’d love to have you join in this hands on effort to help those in need.
